10 Fall Staples

The top ten things I see essential to a fall wardrobe. Staple pieces for every season and items you can mix and match or layer as the months get colder.

1. A good pair of jeans,

Good quality denim. It's that simple.

2. A Scarf.

A square scarf is my preference, because you can style it multiple ways. Plus it always seems warmer to me!

3. A baggy T- Shirt (for layers)

Loose and baggy to create dimension and texture to your outfit and great to put over those summer dresses to add layers.

4. A denim button down.

Good for any season and lets be honest a Canadian tuxedo looks great!

5. A good flannel or plaid shirt.

Fall and the Holidays to me is all about PLAID! You can go basic or choose a more colorful piece if you wish to. I personally prefer a more neutral color palette at the moment.

6. A beanie for the colder days.

Sock Monkey Beanie:
Something fun or a pop of color to show your personality during the rather dull moments of this season.

7. A pair of combat boots.

Mossimo - Target Style
Mostly I wear with long socks. I didn't add this to this list however boot socks are the way to go when wanting to look cute, but you want to stay cozy.

8. A sweater.

Banana Republic - Cotton cashmere and one size up so you can wear a tank or tee underneath. If needed you could layer with denim or flannel button down.

9. A stylish pair of booties.

A good will treasure. Slightly bigger so you could wear with socks if needed.

10. A coat or jacket.

Faux Leather Sleeves to keep in the warmth and the front hangs down similar to having a scarf draped around your neck.

First Signs of Fall

It's just now starting to cool off, but still signs of summer are around. So I layered up some of my summer items and made them a little more cozier. Wearing my mint Kirra crop top from pac sun if it warms up through out the day and a cardigan that is knitted with flecks of colorful yarn in it! I call it my confetti cardigan. On the bottom I am wearing floral shorts from Charlotte Russe that scream spring and summer because of all the bright flowers. My polka dot tights were a clearance steal from target only two dollars! Which any time they have their tights on sale I have to purchase at least three new colors or prints. These black knee high socks I have had forever, I honestly think I may have snagged them from my little sister years ago when she had to wear uniforms to school. (Sorry Hannah if you're reading this.) The studded oxfords are made by Wanted Shoes and these were a steal for only $5.98 at Burlington.

I'm into the layering of jewelry and can't wait to get my hands on some new accessories to spice up some of my favorite old outfits. Today I am wearing a tattoo choker I purchased from Hot Topic, The open triangle necklace I believe is from Pac Sun and the triangle statement necklace is Kardashian Kollection. I have my nails painted with OPI's Key's to my Karma.

Enjoy and I hope you can hold onto summer during the colder months!
